We were pleasantly surprised to receive an email from a writer for ALIVE magazine requesting more information about South Carondelet and the many developements that Steins Broadway has completed and still has in the works.
ALIVE magazine mentioned hearing great things about the renovations that have been taking place along South Broadway and about Steins Broadway’s newest development, The Temtor.
What a great honor for South Carondelet to be one of the neighborhoods that was on the list for one of the ’Top 25 Best St Louis neighborhoods to live in right now’ in their March 2011 issue. Each neighborhood met a certain criteria and then were ranked with a 1-5 score and 1 being the lowest rank.

Amenities – 4
Green Space – 3
Noise – 2
Walkability – 4
Cultural Attractions – 4
They even mentioned a few of our newest commercial tenants in South Carondelet by saying “with help from places like Hammer and Hand Imports, The Ivory Theatre and a new music venue called Halfway Haus (among others), the area is host to a bevy of art shows and design speakeasies,”

On the National Register of Historic Places, the Temtor building was designed in the early 1900s by noted architect Harry G. Clymer. Early press reports about the structure spoke of “integrity through workmanship, design, location and material.”
